A special hello to Parents and/or Guardians!

Welcome to another exciting year of learning! Below are some of the procedures I will be following this year in the grade 5 class.

As a teacher and parent myself, I believe that communication between home and school is very important. I believe that with your increased awareness and involvement, your son/daughter will have an even greater opportunity for success.

Agendas

To ensure daily success, students will be required to record any homework, upcoming events and goals in their student agendas. I have asked them to show you this agenda daily and to get it signed each night. Please feel free to write me a note in your son/daughter’s agenda any time. I may do the same as a way to send you a message or an update. Because we feel the agenda is an essential learning tool, the school is providing them free of charge.

Work at Home

Each night, your son/daughter will be expected to spend 20 minutes reading. They may also have daily assigned work that was not completed in class that day. If you would like an additional work-at-home package for your son/daughter, please speak to your son/daughter and let me know.

I will be using the agenda to communicate with you, and would appreciate it if you could initial your son/daughter's agenda daily so I know that they did their reading.

Extra Help

Should students encounter difficulty, I encourage them to come in for some extra help. Students can book an appointment with me for extra help from 8:15-8:45 a.m. or from 11:50 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.

Contact Me: If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email or phone the school. We can easily set up a meeting if you would prefer that as well. My email and the school phone number are listed below.
