Welcome to our Webpage.

 Dear Parents and Guardians:

On April 24th, the “Scientist In The School” visited our classroom and presented hands-on, activity-based centres on “simple machines”. The students enjoyed discovering how simple machines help us do work. They learned about various kinds of simple machines that we use. They discovered that they see and use them every day. The students continue to impress us when using their special Science vocabulary to report about an observation that they have discovered.

This month, we will continue our focus on final consonants and vowels. The children will participate in word building activities and they will begin to consistently apply this knowledge when writing their Journal entries.

During our guided reading groups, many students are demonstrating improved tracking, reading and comprehension skills. Thank you for your continued support in the home reading program.

Our focus in Science this month will include stating problems and posing questions as part of the discovery process. The students will be planting seeds with discussions on what plants need to grow healthy and strong.

Our Senior Kindergarten students will be having their photos taken on May 23rd in preparation for their upcoming graduation in June.

                                                                    Best Regards,

                                                                    Ms. S. Derrington
